The Aviation Medical Society in New Zealand exists to foster and support aviation medicine and aviation medical practitioners.
The Society is a non-profit Incorporated Society. Its objects and rules are given in more detail in these links.
The Society is associated with a charitable trust, the Patterson Trust, named in honour of Douglas Patterson who was the Managing Director of the National Airways Corporation (the forerunner of the domestic arm of Air New Zealand).
The Society has been closely linked with its sister society in Australia. A more detailed history of the two societies is also available.
